Province of Ancona
The Frasassi Caves are one of the most spectacular karst complexes in Europe, discovered in 1971. The tourist route (1.5 km, about 75 minutes) crosses the majestic Grotto del Vento - the Abisso Ancona, large enough to contain the Duomo of Milan. Inside: the Sala delle Candeline (stalagmites on micro-lakes), the Sala dell'Orsa, the Sala dell'Infinito. There are also adventure routes with wetsuit and helmet.
