Province of Ancona
Monte Conero (572 m) is a unique limestone formation on the Adriatic, the only true promontory between Trieste and Gargano. Its name derives from the Greek 'komaros' (strawberry tree). The panoramic paths (Passo del Lupo path, Vedetta path) allow you to walk overlooking the sea with views from Ancona to Conero. The flora includes holm oaks, strawberry trees, brooms and wild orchids. The summit of Monte Conero offers 360° views.
