Province of Ancona
The Conero Regional Natural Park protects 6,000 hectares of limestone promontory, holm oak woods and Mediterranean scrub. It includes the towns of Sirolo, Numana and Portonovo. The network of paths is wide (over 18 marked paths) and allows you to reach hidden coves such as the Spiaggia delle Due Sorelle, dei Gabbiani and di Vela. Exceptional birdwatching during migrations.

Greek settlers from Syracuse recognised the shape of an elbow in the headland: the city’s name comes from Ἀγκών, Ankon.

Santa Maria di Portonovo stands between Conero and the Adriatic: a simple building telling the story of monks, seclusion and medieval architecture.

Numana's necropolises yielded extraordinary grave goods revealing the power of Picene elites and their Mediterranean contacts.

Tunnels, circular rooms, columns, religious symbols and spaces carved into sandstone: beneath this Conero village lies a parallel city.
