Province of Ascoli Piceno
Offida is a small medieval gem famous throughout the world for the tradition of bobbin lace, still practiced today by the 'merlettaie' (lace makers) who can be seen working in the streets of the village. The Church of Santa Maria della Rocca, suspended on a sheer rocky outcrop, is one of the most striking Romanesque-Gothic monuments in the Marche. Offida is also the capital of Pecorino and Passerina wine and DOCG Offida.
