    Two rocks, a changing landscape

The Due Sorelle are the two sea stacks naming one of the Conero’s most recognisable beaches. Their seemingly fixed image belongs to a coast shaped by natural processes. White rock beside the sea is a landscape, not merely a photographic backdrop. [1]

Park interpretation materials encourage reading rocks through layers and transformations. Today’s coast has a history longer than a holiday. You need not identify every geological formation: start with surfaces, fractures and the relationship between cliffs and water. [1]

A viewpoint is not permission to descend

Distinguish viewing the scenery from reaching the beach. The park states that continuing down towards the Due Sorelle is prohibited by municipal order. A visible track or an old online description does not make the passage authorised. [2]

Do not treat Passo del Lupo as a hiking shortcut to the beach. Walk only permitted sections of the official network and follow signs. Coastal paths can have mountain characteristics: suitable shoes and an unhurried pace matter more than apparent distance. [2]

    Choosing the sea, respecting conditions

For arrival by sea, confirm availability, departure points and daily conditions with authorised operators. Wind, sea state and local rules can change plans. Check actual facilities beforehand, especially with children or travellers with specific needs.

Pair the Due Sorelle landscape with Sirolo and allow flexibility. If sea conditions prevent departure, a permitted walk and the village can become the main experience. Remove your rubbish and leave rocks and beach unchanged: a good photograph needs no alteration.
