Mezzavalle is a long pebble and sand beach between Portonovo and Ancona, completely free and wild. It can be reached via a steep path (15-20 minutes on foot) immersed in the Mediterranean scrub. It is much loved by Ancona residents for its relaxed atmosphere. In summer there is a small chiringuito on the beach. Dogs allowed.
