Le Lame Rosse are a unique geological formation in the Monti Sibillini Park: towers, pinnacles and spires of red clay shaped by water erosion, reminiscent of American canyons. They can be reached by an easy path of about 1h30 from Lake Fiastra (~3 km). The red color is due to iron oxides in the calcareous-clayey sediments. Preferably to be walked at sunset, when the color explodes.
